This is one of the easiest flowers I know how to make. They work up in under a minute and are pretty stinking cute! There are so many different uses for these little flowers but they do look adorable wrapped around a gift.
And here again wrapped around a card we made from our card tutorial.
To make these little guys I used worsted weight yarn and a 3.75 mm hook.
You want to start with a long tail. We will use this tail later on to tie the flowers on to our gift or card.
Ch 4 , then sl st to 4th ch from hook. (First petal made) We will be working the rest of the flower into this ch.
Ch 3 and slip stitch back into that ch. (2nd Petal made).
Ch 3 and slip stitch back into that ch. (3rd Petal made).
Ch 3 and slip stitch back into that ch. (4th petal made).
Ch 3 and slip stitch back into that ch. (5th petal made).
Now the flower is complete. But how to finish it off? For the flowers in the picture we are going to be using the back (wrong side) of this flower. So at this point I just cut my tail to be about the same length as my other tail and then pull the yarn through to close off that last loop that is on the hook.
Here is a close up.
Now I take my original tail that is on the back side of the flower and pull it through to the front side of the flower.
Now make a simple knot with the two tails.
And then make another simple knot.
Taadaa!!! Super cute flower. And it will take you less time to make one of these little guys then it has taken you to read this post.
Here is the pattern without all the pictures.
You want to start with a long tail. We will use this tail later on to tie the flowers on.
Ch 4 , sl st into 4th ch from hook. (First petal made) We will be working the rest of the flower into this ch, [ch 3, sl st into that original ch] 4 times. Cut the yarn so that both of your tails are the same length. Pull the original tail through to the front of the piece and double knot the two tails together.
